Not personally but think about it, dogs bred for thousands of years to fight alongside humans,in gladiator rings and are about 220lbs plus with massive jaws. How effective do you think it is going to be.(nothing personal against Bull mastiffs-know/love em)

Yes, and it can have disastrous results! DO NOT attempt to make a Bullmastiff an attack dog. This is an instinct that is bred into them and any attempt to furthur it is asking for trouble.

I talked with an owner in the vets office one day. They told me the come up behind the person, knock them down and sit on them.... especially men because they were bred to protect the estate while the men were at war or on crusade.

Bull Mastiffs understand their size and will normally just put themselves between what they are protecting and what they see as the danger.

They don't need to be aggressive at all..Just the mere presence of them deters the intruder..they are actually bred to be non-aggressive, now
