When the anti-religous, who resent when the religous insist their views on others, insist their views on others, are they being hypocrites? Are they not doing exactly what they claim they hate?

By the way im a christian and im not religious.
Being or doing something over and over out of habit or without heart felt sincerity is religious.
I dont like being put in that catagory.

I am not anti-religious but I would say it is because it is a free country. Just like the religious get frustrated by the non religious people spreading their views. I have seen it go both ways.

No, the 'anti-religious' are not doing what the religious do. I guarantee that you will never, *ever* see an atheist pop up out of the blue on a discussion group about (say) trainspotting or crochet or naturism, and announce that there are no gods. We see the religious preaching their views all the time, in all sorts of inappropriate places, unwanted and uninvited. Christians and Muslims are particularly guilty of this. Atheists simply never do it. Of course we discuss religion on religious discussion groups, and we respond when the religious start up with their unsolicited nonsense in other places, but that is all.

Expressing your view is not the same as insisting that another person adopt it, and being against a certain narrow kind of religion is not the same as being entirely anti-religious.

Only in a free (secular) country where individual rights and liberties are sacred. By contrast, in a Theocracy like Iran has and like many, not all, on the religious right want, they risk their freedom and life by daring to stand up against the official superstition of the land.

In person no. On a public board which was created to share views then yes.

Yes I am an atheist. No not everyone should believe as I do they should believe in what they think they should believe in. If asked I will tell you why I don't believe but I will never think you need to "come over to my side". I believe in treating others as I myself like to be treated and I have a live and let live policy on all things concerned.

Well maybe the established was to be a secular government, but I see presidents using God to justify there wars and the mixing of marriage and taxes and ........... anything else anyone?

I am all for spiritual enlightenment, but the religions that have grown over the years have done so for political gain.

A true atheist doesnt care if people believe in God or not. They have no reason to care. If they want to argue the existance of God, they just like to fight. If a religious person tries to convert them and they fight, that is a different story. A true atheist doesnt START fights. Why would they... so I can go to atheist heaven?

MOST DEFINITELY!!!!! I've been saying that for years... Huge Hypocrites!!!

They often say that they base their views on science which is fact but the truth is that science produces theories just like religions that can't be proved either. Both take FAITH to believe

each group should be allowed to express their views as loudly as they want. Yes both christians and atheists are being hypocritical when they condemn someone for doing the same thing they are doing.
