I don't watch TV. I don't even own a TV. I obviously am not missing anything because nobody is ever talking about it. I listen to music. I watch movies on the computer. I workout, and I listen to the baseball games on the radio. People think that I'm from outer space or something, but I've increased my IQ points by 10. I don't have a problem socializing, and I don't veg out anymore. It's been two and a half years since I sat down and watched television.

I have not watched TV in over 6 years. I am living just fine. In fact, I get a whole lot more done in a day than most people, and I get a whole lot more sleep. I know what is going on in American culture solely by listen to the radio, the internet, and reading People Magazine every 6 weeks. I have yet to find anything that would compel me to get cable and watch TV. Most of the shows on today appear to be insipid and mindless...even those so-called "intelligent" channels like Discovery, or "The History Channel". They are also in it for the entertainment and everything is trite.

So, could you live without it? Sure.

I usually don't watch TV if I'm home alone. I like to watch a few different shows but only if someone else wants to watch, too.

there is SO MUCH crap on TV - I really prefer going out and meeting REAL people and living a life rather than watching other people pretending to live theirs. Watch it for news and really good movies/docs but that's about it. I find a really good book more entertaining and gripping.

Of course there are many religions dont allow it or frown on it. They find it to be Devils work. They entertain themselves with sewing and men farm work. There are some that just don't find television to be entertaining and prefer reading or somthintg else.
