My neighbor and I became very good friends, but I don't entirely trust her. She always is trying to 'psyche' me out by telling me lies and seeing if I buy it. I don't really care for this, but how do I tell her--it's like a game to her. Then when she is in a bad mood, watch out! It's hard to deal with at times. She always does all the talking and it's hard to get a word in at times. When it's her and I the conversation can go okay but when another person comes along she ignores me and talks to them. When she's talking to another person she doesn't wait to let me speak. I have a soft voice and she has a loud one--boy can she be heard! When we have meetings of all residence in my apartment building she again does all the talking. I get so close to telling her to 'shut the f*** up', but she still is a friend. She has a lot of really wonderful qualities but it's just that I don't feel equal with her a lot of the times. How do you handle people like this?

Sounds to me that she is toxic for you. She may not be for others.
If a person has a negative impact on you, the way that you feel about yourself "emotionally and or physically" then they could be toxic to you over time by squelching your expression to avoid their response. (Repression and suppression are not healthy)
I suggest limiting your exposure to this person.

Sounds like you need to clean house and make a new friend. She sounds very rude and insecure. She probably takes pleasure in treating you that way and you shouldn't allow it.

That is not a friend.

a lot of folk have narcissistic character characteristics yet that doesn't inevitably cause them to poisonous. you do no longer contain any info so that's impossible to tell, yet whilst your pal is rather poisonous, that's maximum suitable to shrink touch with him. you are able to tell a poisonous friendship once you experience like crap after being with them. a poisonous pal belittles you, talks in the back of your lower back, is disloyal, and unsupportive.

Why would you want to be good friends with someone who tells you lies? I would have very little to do with her, if I were you. A friend cares what you have to say.

A toxic personality,is a poisonous one. I would not call her a friend, cause she is showing quite the opposite, which is toxic in nature. Get a real friend, & quit fooling yourself, she's NOT A FRIEND.!!!!!!!!!!!

stop talking to her. she is toxic. well more than that she's a HEAD-CASE!!! i wouldn't feel bad about cutting her off. she certainly doesn't feel bad about using you like some game board or an object to be played on.
