Escargot is pretty good, provided that it is cooked right. The snail just melts in your mouth leaving the wonderful taste of the garlic butter.

I would suggest calamari next--fried small squid. If it isn't done right it can be rubbery. Calamari is typically a Japanese dish, but I had some in Italy. It was done for the tourists though and was pretty cheap.

After that go to a Susi Bar and try a few things there. You will have a wide range of choices and tastes. It is a good place to experiment. Wasabi sauce is pretty spicy so watch out for it, or order it if you like it.

hmm escargots! i was quite scared of them in the past, felt sick just looking at them. but bracing my courage once in an authentic french restaurant helped me discover a whole new world on this dish. i think the crucial thing is the sauce which makes a big difference.

my craziest attempt was in beijing crunching on crickets, maggots, hairless chicks(yew!!) which are suppose to be delicious snacks for the locals. 10 points for experience but will definitely not try again. another great memory was smelly toufu in taiwan (also very popular in hong kong), actually its just like mouldy cheese in chinese version, ha. and most amazing is that chicken feet, chicken ***, neck, tungsten, practially every part of the chicken is put on a stick and eaten as snacks.

i think i have to give 100 points to asians who are the biggest fanatics when it comes to food. you name it they have it.

Frogs legs are really very nice. I had some done in garlic, they are also a lot larger than you imagine - quite a lot of meat on actually.
