i love my hair, its long and i love all the things i can do with it, but when i see older women with long hair, to me it makes them look like they are desperatly trying to look young.
any opinions on this?

It depends on the condition of your hair.. I am 47 and have waist length hair.. It is not for religious reasons.. just because I have always had long hair and my husband still likes it long... and so do I... but we agree on this part.. if my hair ever starts becoming thin and old looking then I will cut it... I get a lot of compliments on my hair right now.. it is very full and nice... but someday it will be thinning and look bad.. and I will not keep it long after that starts... I think you have to look at the individual hair and the person that is wearing it.. I don't wear young clothes and try to look young.. I am proud of my age.. but I also have nice hair.. it is my trademark.. some people can make it work.. but whatever you do...if you do decide to cut it short.. I urge you to not cut it all at once.... start by cutting a few inches.. then take it a little higher.. unless it is long enough to give to locks of love... then it is worth a little short hair shock.. LOL good luck.. :)

If you keep your hair in a classic style, it will always look appropriate and make you look youthful.

The length is not a determinant of age. It is just a common submission of women over 35 to cut it off. I love long hair and if you do, hang on to it. You have more flexibility of styles with more hair than if it were short like a soccer mom. eeeewwww!

Personally, I don't think short hair looks good on people at any age. I think most guys prefer long hair. Your long hair is your vanity--keep it. If you want a change, just trim it to have layers or framed around your face. Don't have short hair because you think you are getting to be too old for long hair. The most beautiful, graceful older lady I saw had long gray hair to the middle of her back, so you can have it any way you want and be you.

Please don't cut it. My mother always wanted me to have short hair. I was a tall, gangly, flat-chested child and teen. I was always mistaken for a boy. When I would rebel and grow it out she would make negative comments and I would end up cutting it all off again just to appease. She continued to do it even after I was grown and married. I turned 40 last year and vowed that I would grow it long. I did. I had it cut and styled in a very flattering way. Friends who have known me with both short and long hair prefer it long. I have also been told that I look sexy *blush* .

Some older women do not look good in long hair. That's usually because they don't have good cuts/styles. If you trust your hairdresser have her help you make the decision. I say keep it long and sexy!

Good luck to you.

35 cannot possibly be categorized as an "older woman"! I say if you like your hair long and take good care of it, you should leave it that way. I know women well past 40 who have beautiful long hair. As long as it's not completely gray, I think long hair can look good on adult women.

Shoulder length isn't that long and 35 certainly isn't old! You should wear your hair whatever way is flattering to you personally. I'm 36 and usually wear mine about chin length but I'm growing it out to shoulder length now just for a change of pace.

It all depends in how you feel. Age is just a number. If you like the way you feel with long hair then keep it long, don't go by what other people are doing with their hair

it it makes you look older than you want to look you could cut it,but i don't think 35 is very old. You are still young enough for long hair.
