Well it's not like they have a "turnstyle" at the border counting illegals coming across. I would bet there are many more than 30 million. It makes me mad as hell that there are any here.

Does the word illegal mean anything to anyone. They are certainly not going to line up to be counted. Would you if you was an illegal immigrant? In 100 years it will not make any difference to anyone, so what is the big deal. Who wants to go pick lettuce for 12 hours a day for less than minimum wage? Anyone yelling on this site, I will? I doubt it. These people live 2 or 3 families in a three room building. Nice conditions wouldn't you say. They are overworked and way under payed in deplorable living conditions just to have the American dream.

Illegal immigration is not really the biggest problem facing our government today.
Besides, the counts range from 7million up to 30 million or more.
Have you ever thought about how hard it would be to keep track of how many people are entering our country if they are not even coming here legally? How would you suggest that our government count each immigrant? It's nearly impossible.. there is no way to be exact.

How the heck do we have any idea how many illegals are in America? They opperate under radar to avoid being deprted so how can we know? The low figures probably don't count all of them & the high figures probably count several twice. (many have two or three jobs)
That's why we need to get the border under control. We need to know who is here. There are many low-lifes and criminals hidden in with the masses of good hard-working illegal immigrants. (Note: MOST illegals are fine, hard working people.)
We need to work together & stop playing politics!

Why are the people who hire them not paying astronomical fines?
Why have the illegals not been made to pay local, state, and federal taxes?
Why are the borders still so easy to excess after 9/11?
How many of those 30,000,000 are terrorists?
What is it going to take to make the borders secure, and why is the government not doing it?

Yes, it does bother me. Not because I want to know exactly how many illegal immigrants there are here, but because either the government has no idea what's going on, or they are optimistic liars.

You know....when you think about it, our useless government is comprised of liars like Bush. Nothing they say or do surprises me. I guess you knew "do-nothing Congress" is on another vacation. As if they do anything anyway! They make me sick. This same bunch of bozos gave themselves a raise that they didn't deserve and turned down the vote to raise minimum wage, which hasn't been raised in 10 years!! Yes, they are a real honorable bunch.

Maybe they were hoping to make the other 20 million dissappear in the middle of the night only to turn up centuries later in unmarked mass graves.

The numbers used are the ones most convenient to whoever is using them. As they are 'illegal' they are not recorded and any number used will be, at best, a guess. The pros will always understate the number, the antis will always overstate it
