I mean, where does he tell you that you will go to heaven after you die and what all that entails?

You might want to read Revelation...you get the only view of the actual throne room of God, as well as a look at the new heaven in chapters 21 and 22.

By the way, Revelation is the only book of the Bible that carries a blessing to the reader.

"Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands"
2 Cor. 5: 1

"We live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."
2 Cor. 5: 7-8

There are some places it says that we will go to heaven after we die, but don't forget the catch:

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Jesus said this in John 14: 6

As far as what heaven will be like, I would take this to be a clue:

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him."
1 Cor. 2: 9

But this is also said:

"He (Jesus) will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
Rev 21: 4

So, I am assuming that it will be a pretty awesome place that is without pain. The thought of spending an eternity with the God who designed me and the things I love makes me believe that heaven will be beyond wonderful and I look forward to it.
Hope that helped.
God bless :)

There are a few passages in the Bible that give a glimpse of what heaven will be like. Jesus talked about Lazarus and the rich man and how Lazarus went to a paradise and the rich man to hell. The apostle Paul was taken out of his body and into the 3rd heaven where he saw things that he was not permitted to tell. Revelations talks about the New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven and how it's foundations are made of precious stones. In addition, Revelations talks about the river in heaven that runs from under the throne of God, the 12 fruit trees in which nations will eat from. There is quit a bit (do not forget the mansions that are waiting for those who belong to God.

God, didn't wrote the Bible, Jesus didn't wrote nothing in the Bible, though the Bible is all about him, and also God the father. HIM(God), never has explain what and how heaven is, although Jesus talks about heaven as to be where the holly Father live, which is also where he came from, also the apostles explain some of what they where able to see and perceived of the heavens. The accounts of the Bible are the true Word's of the Father as in the Old testament, and the account of the true Journey and life of Jesus, in this earth, as experience and seeing by the 12 apostles of Jesus. as well the true words Jesus specks about heavens and the Father, "There are many rooms in my Father's House" and "Heaven's which is were I come from and were my father live, isn't from this World" The promises of heavens are that there will be not sickness, death, poverty, pain, nor sorrow, just happiness and for ever life. Not demons, to worry about,
p.s. The only thing that God wrote was the Ten commandment's, with Lighting's of Fire coming from his index finger, to impress and scare Moses, this HIM, did in two rocks (tablets) and HIM(God), gave then to Moses. near the Sinai Mountains, after Moses, found the burning bush.<<>>>

I looked in my concordance and there are so many references to heaven, I didn't want to list them all. May I make a suggestion? go to the site, Blue Letter Bible and put in "heaven" as your search. Although these verses tell us we (believers in Christ) will be in heaven, there isn't much of a description of what heaven will be like. Most likely because human words would fail to describe the beauty of it.

Revelation does describe the new city of Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven...it's very beautiful. That's found in Revelation chapter 21.

He doesn't tell.
Why?
Because we don't go to heaven.
That's not our place.
Have a peek at Psalm 115:16 and Psalms 37:29.
Let me throw in Proverbs 2:21, 22.
Its all earth, which should explain why the Bible says so little about Heaven.

"The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men" Psalm 115:16

Heaven is not our place, the Earth is. That is all that the bible has ever clearly stated.
