NO!!! Go to these sites.....
nextdaypets.com
terrificpets.com
puppydogweb.com

See all the puppies ready to ship to anyone with a credit card!!!! They do not care about the home, only the cash!!!! Notice many are not registered, but you are paying a high price. Notice the lack of a good guarantee. You have no way of even knowing the puppy you see is the one you are getting.
Notice that many "breeders" have MANY puppies for sale!!! Like TOO many!!
Getting a dog out of the newspaper is better!!! At least you have seen it and where it lives. I am not a fan of backyard breeders,

Anyone who buys puppies from the Amish for breeding purposes is a puppy miller!!!! The Amish are among the worst puppy mill owners!!! They see nothing wrong with breeding every heat cycle, and breeding the females until they drop!!! Avoid the Amish sellers and all who buy from them to breed!!!!!!!!!

There is no reason to get a puppy online!!!! There are breeders all over and I am sure if you looked, you could find one!!!!!

I would advise against it.
Unless you know the breeder or are able to pick up the pup in person.
There are way to many scams out there. Pay close attention to the location and phone number listed with the ad. The number doesn't always match the location. The seller will often advertise in many different states (Texas, California, Florida, New York, etc) and actually be in a different country. Also check to see if they have other ads. This is when you will notice the different locations.
These people are often selling their pups cheap, but by the time the cost of the pup, shipping charges, etc. are added together it is in the thousands of dollars. You send the money and receive no pup.
Hope this helps you some. Best of luck.
I have found out that if you deal with one and mention that you won't be needing the shipping charges, you will be able to pick up the pup in person, they will usually back off and will not contact you anymore.

Absolutely, BUT you must do your homework. Ask for references, ask how long they have been breeders. Ask about the Parents of the pup you are looking at. Look at the web site read all about the breeder. Ask about a health guarantee, most good breeders will give you one.

We breed Llewellin Setters, and are just beginning our kennel. We did our home work, and bought a puppy sight unseen from a web site, and after several calls to the breeder, was sufficiently happy with our "Ruby".

Only put down a deposit if you are going to travel to pick up the pup. I suggest this is the best way to go. A nice road trip for you, and you get to see the Kennel you are buying the pup from.

You must do your homework, and check references.

The JRT is unhappy that his home has been invaded by Shelties because he's the ALPHA and although the Sheltie doesn't fight back,it is giving off signals because it is terrified of the JR terrorist. Please believe me when I say this will NOT change as long as they are sharing space. Your only recourse is to separate them. Seeing as the JRT is the one causing the damage, he''s the one to isolate. Yes, a basket muzzle could help, BUT I would bet that he would still wrestle and pin the Sheltie even while wearing the muzzle. As you stated the Shelties are temporary visitors and will be leaving. Until then, totally isolate the JRT. When you take him out of the mix, the dynamics between the others will change for the better.

YES it is . make sure you snail mail your deposit check so you have a mailing address and not a po box. get as much info on the breeder as the breeder gets on you. check the info before you send money. phone to a land line not a cell phone. call them and write .so you know they really live there. then if you dont get what you pay for its against the law ( called fraud) and you can call the local police in their town and press charges. so that is why its safe to buy pups this way.

No. for you never know what, when or how or who that dog was born to or weather that dog is insane or not. And many other problem that dog may have. Just go to a notable dealer and do your buying there.

Well.. I know that I never would... I see quite a number of Judge Judy and Judge Brown cases where people have bought a dog on line and it was NOT what was advertised and/or they switched dogs.. and/or they sent a sick dog.. No.. I would have to see the dog

I think it would be better to be able to see the parents or at least the mother of the dog you are hoping to buy. See the mother's temperament etc.
