Did you know......not to store them with fruits.

Fruits produce ethylene gas as they ripen. This gas will decrease the storage life of the carrots as well as other vegetables. This is why it is best to store fruits and vegetables separately.

Too much moisture. Also check the freshness date. I have seen this problem often as I work in a produce department of a grocery store. Sometimes it has to do with the different tempurature changes from the manufacturing facility, to the truck, to the warehouse, to the store, etc. You should be able to take them back to the store where you purchased them for a refund or exchange.
