This is one of the greatest questions I have ever read. Thank you so much for posting this, because I feel the same exact way, although I have never read this book. I will definitely read it now, though. What "God" really is in present day is your own spiritual self and your own mind. If you just sit down and think for 5 minutes ("pray") and think about things, you will feel uplifted and already feel so much more refreshed and ready to take on anything. We can do so much more for ourselves then people think. I had cancer this past year, and I have completely changed myself and who I am because I have had the time to do so. I love how I used to be, but I love myself even more now. I believe I'm a much better person because of how I was able to change my own spirit. Thank you to the poster of this question for using your mind instead of the Bible.
To Paolo at the bottom of this page... please read your answer again. You tell him he's wrong for basing his beliefs of a book(which isn't exactly what he's doing), and then you go ahead and quote the Bible 2 times. Wait a second, isn't the Bible a book that holds your beliefs in it? Nice one...

I should read that book... I talked to another guy for a while who said his "religious" beliefs were based on physics and that he felt holograms explained everything. I am not ashamed to say that I don't completely understand the theories behind the Holographic Universe, but it does sound like a lot of pseudo-science. Does it really "discount" God? Couldn't these "changes in the hologram created by the energy (auras) surrounding us all" just be the means through which God executes miracles? Miracles are a matter of faith... sometimes its not THAT they happened, but WHEN they happened, that makes them miracles.

Really. Why would I want to practice witchcraft? I love God and Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Maybe you havent heart that
The Bible is God's Word to us.
It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:20-21. (New International Version)
Breakdown of the Bible
36 human authors inspired entirely by God over 1600 years.
66 separate books
39 Old Testament
Genesis- The creation of the world, sin, flood and birth of Israel
Exodus to Esther- History of the nation of Israel
Job to Proverbs- the books of poetry and wisdom
Isaiah to Malachi- Prophecy or foretelling of the future events to come.
27 New Testament
Matthew to John - Four Gospels representing the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ now with all authority in Heaven and earth.
Acts- Birth of the Church (The Bride of Christ)
Romans to Jude - Letters to the Churches
Revelations - The ultimate future plans for: The Church, Heaven, Hell, a New Heaven and a New Earth.

Dude, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. The reason we're losing power, spiritual power, is because we're no longer giving it to God. Look at the past where God talk and God practice was everywhere. The very idea that we had more and are now losing it would mean that whatever we were doing in the past was creating more spirituality than what we are doing now, so read your history books and figure out what's different. Get a textbook published in the 1920's or so and check out the insane difference to the way our textbooks look now... you'll notice a huge difference. They used to mention GOD and things such as Divine Providence.

Hmm sounds like what I studied. I am a witch and I worship the feminine divine. The nature energies are at my disposal and I know how to use them.We believe in taking responsibiliy for our actions. There is no evil power to control us. The correlation between mind-body-spirit is ineffable and permanent. Some of us just know how to access its properties. After all our majik is science yet unexplained. Think about it, if you take a person that lived in the 1500's and put them into todays world, how many things would they look at as majik or miracles. Television would be one not to mention cameras, cell phones even cars.

I think you have it backwards, it's not those who believe in God that shirk responsibility. We (most of us) take full responsiblity for our actions without thinking we're fine as long as we don't get caught or "I was born this way" It is mostly the non-believers who tag almost every sinful behavior as an "illness" and not sinful nature. Christians know they have eternal repercussion for bad choices if they don't repent. We know if we're alcoholics we have to go before God with that, others think they can say "It's a sickness I can't help it... my grandmother was an alcoholic and I have that gene" Thats not to say Christians never use such excuses, but they do know they will be held accountable.

You sir are a genius. I agree that I have never witnessed or heard of a miracle ever. For example, When someone walks from a car crash unharmed why thank the lord? Why not thank the fire fighters who got you out or the designers and engineers of the car, as that is really what saved you. If god could control these things you would never have crashed at all

A profound question deserves a profound answer.
I am Jewish and have attended a lecture The Secret Codes of the Torah. (It is the Old Testiment...) If you start at a specific point of the Torah (in its original hebrew...) and you count every I think 613 letters (BTW there are 613 commandments in the old testament...) it spells gods name over and over again repeatedly! Does God exist... you are entitled to your opinion but consider the importance of BELIEF and of RELIGION in our society.
The purpose for religion (mine or anybody's) is that it gives us an empirical value system. A murderer never pulled the trigger on a gun for a bad reason. He had a valid reason that he could justify in order to pull the trigger. An empirical value system prevents this. That is why it is so important.
Are we paying too much attention to God?? No we are not paying enough. I am Canadian and I really wish my dollar bill said the words "In G-d We Trust!" G-d bless America for its values. And, God bless you for yours!

Psa 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, There is no God! They acted corruptly; they did hatefully in deeds; there is none doing good
Actually, the ultimate way to avoid responsibility is to say there is NO God. Are you basing your beliefs, your faith, on this book you read? Challenge your beliefs before challenging anyone else's!
1Th 5:21 Test all things, hold fast the good.

Yeah, that is all true. People just dont get it and you really have to step easy when trying to change their minds. It is a long process. You almost have to take a psychology method to it. If you throw the information at them and tell them they are wrong, you will just build their walls thicker. You have to feed little bits over a long period of time so that they feel that they came up with this all by themselves. That's just how it goes.
