At least every 3rd or 4th question on this board seeks to impress on our psyches the incredibly huge economic deficit that will be created if the US were liberated from the illegal menace.

Are there any actual numbers to back this up? I see study after study regarding the economic burden created by allowing illegals to stay, and I have yet to see one backing up the statements that the US economy will bellyflop without said tidal wave.

One study. That's all I'm looking for. Preferably not from the office of Senator Kennedy or McCain, or from La Raza or Mecha.

One credible study. Please. Put your money where your mouth is.

Have fun spending $5 bucks for a head of lettuce!

Who said I supported slavery? I don't think lettuce picker jobs are in high demand. Other than immigrants, I don't know too many other people that are willing to do that job. If they are willing to work for minimum wage, then let them. How is that slavery? And how dare you call me immoral, you jerk!

The Wall Street Journal did one but it ended up saying 'losing 10 billion a year isn't a big number' when you look at it closely. That is the best big business could commission. And that didn't take into account local costs like schools.

The only ones where I've seen a net benefit is when they fail to break out the legal immigrants and lump all immigrants together. Since legal immigrants are picked for skills, etc., typically, that number is sometimes presented as SLIGHTLY in positive territory. Remove the legals from the equation and the numbers tank, though.

there is no study because it matters not. illegals have always been here they will always be here and this so called issue is only another tactic by the Bush administration to distract the public from the real issues . think about it, the last time amnesty was given to all those field workers people thought the job market was going to change, after all a new work force was created but nothing happened the julios kept working the fields the steves kept telling them when. but hey how about gay marriage for another distraction..
shiny..shiny . look over here

You won't get anything but anti-American and anti-white propoganda. They hate us because they can never be us. They can only seek to destroy from the inside out that which they envy to the point of insanity. All of the studies show that they are not here to be Americans, and they are a drain on the economy, that they hurt the poor and working class, and they are heading us towards a civil war.

Illegal immigrants dont hurt the US economy one bit. Its all fear tactics by the repukes to cover up how horable outsourcing is for the US economy. No one will spend the money on a "study" because they know that a reasonable outcome that sights their beliefs is unlikely.

Bingo! Precisely!! I keep saying that too ... if the pro illegals manage to come up with a verifiable source that law breaking on a massive scale is somehow good for the United States, I for one am willing to sit up and take note ... but I've a feeling I'll be waiting ... and waiting ...

Today an LA County Supervisor announced that immigration was costing the county one billion dollars a year.

If we just taxed the employers this cost, they would hire citizens, except for lettuce pickers.

$5 for a head of lettuce ... who cares. 10 years ago gas was 99 cents a gallon. People will just buy less lettuce and eat fewer salads. either that or lettuce and certain vegetables will be grown on assembly line farms where you get the most product for minimal labor. Trust me, the economy will survive without illegal workers.

Hell no! They cost tax payers much more than they will ever put in. Illegals drum up more lies than I have ever seen, and this is just one of them, to justify their being here illegally. It's sickening. The most credible thing I have seen when it comes to the illegal alien problem is on Lou Dobbs.
