i want to know the possibility of using lower animals for bioremediation of polluted sites.has it been done anywhere

am not talking about bacteria,but lower animals like the water bugs you mentioned.can you pls give me more details on the kenya scientists.tks alot

bacteria are the most abundant life forms on earth and therefor aren't "lower". Do you mean like lipid eating bacteria? And if so, Yes i think U of Ohio is working on something like that.
It is always risky to introduce a species, but there is a scientist in (kenya?) africa who has sucessfully introduced a water bug that kills an invasive water plant that is desrtoying the Lake Victoria ecosystem. Sorry, i don't know his name

earth worm? but it is really slooooooow, need constant water too,

i think any of that "lower being" will naturally populated, we just need to control the degree of pollution, and make sure the fresh oxygen & water

ps: plants ang fungi works better in polluted site?
