You need to follow up with both the dealer and the credit union. Explain the situation to the credit union, give them the dealership info and show them the paperwork. Tell them you will be contacting the dealership to straighten it out, and that you don't want this to have a bad impact on your credit. They will be nice about it.
Then go to the dealership, bring your bill and get something in paper form that states they will pay or have paid the balance. Give a copy to the credit union. Stay in touch with the credit union until it is straightened out, and apologize for the trouble even though it isn't your fault.
Don't worry. This kind of stupid stuff happens all the time and can be straightened out.

i'd go to the dealership (if possible), ask for the person in charge of financing and find out when the check was issued or will be issued for the payoff on your old car - they usually ask you for a 10 day payoff amount that you would have obtained or they would have called for on your car loan. that amount should be valid for the 10 full days and already includes your next payment - you still have 6 more business days; there is hope. call the dealership if you can't get there and don't take someones voicemail for an answer - call back and ask for a human if that happens. good luck.

I'd ask the dealership when the payment is to be sent to the old car financing company. If it is past your due date it might show a late payment on your credit if you don't pay, but if you pay then you'll most likely have overpaid the balance when the check goes through and I doubt they'd refund you. It's your call.

Read the copy of your contract (truck) and read when are they suppossed to have sent the money to pay. And contact the dealership and ask for the Sales Manager and ask him for an explanation of the process, and its status.
You shouldnt have to pay for the trade in, it's not your car anymore.

Perhaps it is because, contrary to all the claims, the Jews do not control the banks, do not control the Federal Reserve, do not control the US economy, do not control the world economy. The world is in the mess it is because they will NOT let the Jews help them out.

you need to look at your contract closely- it should tell you the date they paid off the first loan & the amount.
