The Lost Tribes of Israel are all the tribes except Judah and one more I can't remember. We discussed this in Sunday School a week or two ago. Benjamin's tribe was given land right next to Judah's tribe, so it could be them as they could have been pretty much one tribe right before the Assyrians scattered everyone. I don't remember, but I think I remember that it was Ephraim that came back years later with the tribe of Judah. In the Bible the Assyrian scattering time frame is found in 2Kings, 2Chronicles, Isaiah 29 (I think), and Jeremiah. We were studying King Hezekiah, and he was the last righteous king before they were scattered.
So to answer your question specifically, the Lost Tribes are Ruben, Gad, Asher, Dan, Naphtali (spelling??), Simeon, Manasseh, Ephraim, Zebulon, & Levi.
Where are they, they are scattered across the earth. The Assyrian's were good at that. When they didn't like a people, or felt the were a threat they would scatter some here some there across the many nations they controlled/conquered.

UPDATE: Just for clarification Indigo, not to start something, but Mormons believe the ancestors of Native Americans came from one tribe, Manasseh, not ALL of the Lost Tribes.

Some say the Khazars, but they are a Turkic tribe who adopted Judaism in the 9th Century.

Most likely, they were utterly destroyed or assimiliated out of existence.

Remember that the lost tribes would still be a semitic tribe. Since no one has found any DNA traces of them, they were likely assimiliated out of existence.

Some people try to claim (or erase?) Native people of the western hemisphere as the "Lost Tribes of Israel" though it is false. I'm sure the term is and has been applied to other groups of people as well... As far as I can see it is more often placed on a group rather then have them claim it themselves.

back in the 70's there was a tribe of Ethiopian Jews they were believed to be the lost tribe. When civil war broke out there Isreal made a massive effort to relocate them to the home land (isreal). It took several months but all were relocated.

they are African Americans and others scattered across the diaspora. It must be African Americans because of slavery and the prophecies concerning that period in the book of Revelation.
