All great answers, I'm wondering if I could get examples of such firms that deal in the U.S. and Japan. I really want to know a firm that deals in robotics.

I work for a large medical device company and we actually have devision located in US that does all of the development for the Japanese market. Engineers and especially marketing people can definitley use Japanese language skills in this division.

If you add an MBA on top of that, you can become a marketing executive for a US engineering firm that tries to get into the Japanese market.

Robotics. The Japanese are leading the world in robotics research, and in particular looking to be dominant in robot manufacture and development within the next 10-20 years.

This is an excellent combination for any number of companies that work in both Japan and the U.S. If you also like to travel, you will be set. Automotive engineer would be an excellent choice.
