Why do people always judge single mothers??

Can anyone tell me why people are always staring and make obscene comments about a single white mother with a bi-racial child wheras if its a single white mother with a white child??????

People are racist, and ignorant even though they refuse to admit it.
America is still a very racist country even though nobody admits it. Most people don't even know they're racist! Even I, sometimes, find myself making a racist comment, and I'm NOT racist! I love people of all ethnicities. I love the diversity in america. But yes, people are ignorant, and racist.

There's nothing wrong with single mothers. Sometimes a woman feels like it's the right time in her life to have baby. She feels the need to be responsible for somebody, and to love them, and she SHOULDN'T wait until a man comes along to experience motherhood. Sometimes people have a child, but their relationship just doesn't work out.
There are many reasons why some women are single mothers, and nobody should critisize them.

I would say that it was a kneejerk racial reaction based on facts. Fact is that in Philadelphia 80% of black children are born to a single mother. Fact is that only 20% of white children are born to single mothers so when a person looks at you alone with a bi-racial child they think, "there goes another white chick getting knocked up by an irresponsible black guy". While this is racest, the sad truth is that it is the truth. There is only one thing that your child has to look forward to in life, Poverty. Fact a child born to a single parent is 10 times more likely to grow up in poverty, and commit thier first major crime before the age of sixteen. The white girl with the white child is more likely to marry a man who will act as a father to her child before the child begins school, than the white girl with the biracial child. If this bothers you, I'm sorry but unless you're Madonna, your future is not very bright, and your childs is darker than yours. I do wish you and your child the best, and I will pray for you both.

Because unfortunately people are ignorant, but you shouldn't be concerned with what others think, as a single mother who will hear twice as much "stuff" you should just concentrate on your child, because believe it or not, in the course of their life their going to hear even more "stuff" than you, take it from me I know first hand. But because my mother was strong and emphasized how special I was it didn't phase me. See, a mother's influence and direction is the most profound thing in a child's life. Fck everybody who has something to say, especially the dirty comment posting, do you know how many "mulatto" (which is politically incorrect, by the way) children there are? And your comparing them to the 20 you saw in your local Wal-Mart, let me guess Wal-Mart is the biggest thing in your podunk town too, huh? Well I think it has something to do with a social prejudice. Guys are supposed to stick around when they have a baby, so in our minds something tells us that since there isnt a guy around a single mother, something really serious happened in between the 2. Which makes it easy to conclude that there is something wrong with the single mother and she "let the guy go". But thats a prejudice. About the racial question...there is another prejusdice and if you see a white woman hanging out with a black or hispanic guy, the first thing you think about it: is she that bad that no white guy wants to hang out with her and she has to settle down for "these" guys? Something like that. But once again...its a prejudice.

Well, there will always be bigots and there is not much we ca ndo about them other than ignore them. They are ignorant. They don't know by looking at you that you are a single mom, but they are in-general making snide comments about seeing a whilte girl with a bi-racial child. I never jugde a single mom at all because I don't know the history behind WHY they are a single mom...maybe they just got out of a abusive relationship, and they are better off single.

OK to be completely honest all of the single mothers I have seen with biracial children (I have seen at least 20) are fat (not chubby or pleasantly plump) nasty (as in dirty hair, bad makeup, dirty clothes ...etc) looking white women with milatto children that have unkempt hair that are either half dressed and dirty or are wearing dirty clothes.. Maybe if all the parties involved looked clean and well kept, but when they are in Wal Mart at 3 in the afternoon looking like they just got out of bed and smelling like they didnt bathe before bed it seems like they dont give a s*** and its nasty.

Well....the world is full of selfish people...they don't stop and think before they judge..they don't think about what could have happened...could she have been raped?
maybe...but they don't care what happened...AS long as they say whats on they're mind...they think that nobody has feelings...well..i'd like to tell all these people out there to lighten up.It could have happened to you!!
