We are the most important. God made the universe for our benefit.
The people who believed that the universe rotated around the earth were scientifically wrong, of course, but spiritually right.

While we are most likely the only living humans, this does not mean we are the only or most important lifeform in the universe.
What makes us so important?
If you look at things carefully you will see humans are just another species of animal running around on this planet.

to believe we r the only ones in the universe is so ignorant, and to believe we r the most important thing in it is the biggest mistake we can make, that is why the world is being destroyed, everything on this earth is here for a reason n running any one of them to extinction will have MASS consequences. WAKE up everyone before its too late

No. If that is true, then you could say that mosquitoes are the most important things in the universe as there no others elsewhere.
I believe that importance is in the eye of the beholder.
Anyway, there is no proof that we are the only humans in the universe (or, for that matter, that mosquitoes are the only ones in the universe ;-D ).

Maybe we are the only HUMAN BEINGS in the universe but that dosn't mean we are either the only or most intelligent life form in the universe.
Maybe we are as intelligent as a form of pond-scum in another part of the universe.

I don't think so! We depend on other life forms that are not human to survive, without them "we" humans would die! They can survive without us, but we can't survive without them . Which would you say is more important?Gee, what would it do to us to know that there was a higher form of human intelligence out there some where? Better yet , what if the higher form of life wasn't human? What, "we" humans not the most "important " or most "intelligent" life form? Oh, just wait till they find us{ Maybe they're smart enough to know not to let us know they're here! {lol} or if we find them, and then we'll see who's the most intelligent and most important! Nothing like us, is there? lol

How naive can you get? We are average animals, living on an average planet, circling an average star, in an average galaxy.
Get real and get used to it. Spend a Friday night at Poole Bus Station and then come back and tell me how important we are in the Universe.

That's a very narrow - minded way to look at the wonders around us we are currently destroying. Ah, the human ego. It'll be the death of us. I also suggest you look at Drake's Equation. With 200,000,000,000 stars in our galaxy alone and as many galaxies beyond, it's unlikely we're the only 'sentient' species in the cosmos. Note I avoid the use of the world intelligent here ;-)

Important to whom?
Our selves?
To freelancenut:
That is the essence of the christian thought process that is so disgusting about your religion. And is also the reason why western civilization (christians) are on the verge of wiping out all species on this planet.
