I have a Packard Bell diamond 1200+ scanner which never worked too well since I got it but I could sort of manage. However I had to reformat and reinstall windows xp, not from the disc that the original operating system was installed from, another CD. I found that the scanner driver cd had gone missing so I tried to download a driver from several websites. Seems to be the same driver each time but just won't install and the PC doesn't recognise it's even got a scanner connected. Anyone any ideas?

The chances are that the makers have'nt produced XP drivers for your model and are saying that windows 2000 or me will work, I had the same problem with my Packard bell scanner.( which actually is a rebadged musteck)
