Even if you do, this is usually a cheap answer that does little to embrace the pain of loss being felt.
It's only mildly appropriate if the person who died did so under extreme pain. In that case this response is made to assure someone that the dead are no longer living in the pain.

No. I would never lie to anyone about that. I have comforted people by telling them the Lord has let me know in my Spirit their loved one is with the Lord.
I could ask the Lord a number of different ways & I get the same answer. There are times that I don't get that assurance. I believe one of my grandpa's is sleeping some where. He didn't receive the free gift of salvation because it wasn't presented to Him correctly. He judged God on the sins of others. He was a wonderful grandpa & died when I was young. I don't think He is going to be a part of the first resurrection. I get confirmation in the spirit that His name is written in the book of life & He will eventually go to heaven. Those names who are not found in the book of life will be thrown in the lake of fire, the 2nd death(Rev. 20).

No i haven't but i also believe there is a time and a place to share about theology. I've had unbelieving friends die and at the funeral is not the place to tell them their loved one is not in Heaven.

I've found the best thing to do in that circumstance is to just be there to support them and listen.
If they believe their loved one is in heaven, don't tell them differently at this particular time.
This might not be scriptural but it is loving.

We usually have a clue based on their works. There is also dream communication as long as you are not in sin and you believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.

Yes, and why not, We have to return to God, and oif someone is too loved by the people, surely God will place him/her in heaven.

no, because I don't believe in that. I did tell them they will see them again when Jesus comes to resurrect them.
