that means you were scheduled to appear in court and you didnt show up.
in most cases, this is a crime, and you can be arrested or fined for it.

Failure to appear is what the charge is when you don't show up in court as required. It can be a misdemeanor or a felony, depending on the charge the court was for.
As a result of failing to appear a bench warrant is issued and the individual will be arrested when the police run into them. The results can differ for this. The court may deny bail because of this, increase the bail bond, or just reset the court date.
Best solution if you have missed a court date is to turn yourself in as soon as possible. The court will be more lenient with you then if you end up getting arrested. Good luck!

If you were issued a citation for something, like speeding, and you didn't pay the fine or show up for court. In almost all cases, a failure to appear means that there is now a warrant out for your arrest. You can call the courthouse and find out if there is a warrant out for you and set up a way to pay the fine or sometimes even a new court date. If you have a warrant, and you get stopped for something or an officer runs your lic. plate. It will come back that you have a warrant and will be arrested on the spot. Officers can also show up to your house and arrest you if they know you have a warrant. It is to insure the court gets their fine money and if it is a severe enough crime, they will hold you until you see a judge. So if you have a warrant, get it taken care of because most departments do print off a warrant list and the favorite day to go get someone at there house is on Friday. That way you have to sit in jail until monday when court is back on. If you call the courhouse, they will help you out in taking care of the fine.

It means you did not show up for your court date. Where else did you think you failed to appear?

Not showing up for a court hearing when you were issued a subpoena. A judge can charge you with contempt for not showing up.

usually when someone isn't there at their court date.
when you get a ticket or citation or things, maybe even released and have parole or something and you don't show up where and when you're supposed to show up. it's never good.
