religious belief, social status, sexual orientation, physical and mental disability, submitted in this website. Why does one have to insult the contributor if one disaggrees with what he/she says or thinks. Is it impossible to expect some sense of maturity even among the young. Remember that what and how you say things is a direct reflection on who you are.

As you've probably realized by now, there are definitely no restrictions on any of the above items you've mentioned. I've suggested, and not too subtly, that this site should be monitored for appropriateness of subject matter and responses, but to no avail. Some people use this site as though it were a chat room or blog. And many of the questions aren't really questions at all, or are so outrageous they would make a stand-up comic blush. However, there are still some folks out there who really need help, and if people like you and I who are really sincere and want to help, our time spent here is not wasted. Thanks, Don, for your astute observations. I thought I was the only one:)

Well, there are the guidelines, which state limitations. You can report askers and answerers for being insulting or not answering the question.

Although I agree there's a lot of gunk on this site, there are also a lot of thoughtful, respectful people.

This is an anonymous site using an anonymous technology. This frees many people from social constraint (not that all the things you mention don't also happen in the off-line world).

I guess we may be a dying breed. My mom taught me that it's easier to get flies with honey than with vinegar. are we neglecting to teach our kids that or are they so disrespectful that they take what we've taught them and throw it out the window? Some of these questions are so ridiculous and vile that I think the submitter is doing it for shock value and my advice would be not to even respond to those questions. If they are ignored maybe they'll get the idea that ALL is not always best. i love leaving helpful messages and I feel good when I've helped make someone else's life more wise.

It attracts all types. Some great minds and some cruel lunatics. It's the harshly worded incorrect assumptions on presentation, religion, gender and nationality that get to me, despite the fact that the comments come from complete strangers. Sometimes this space can seem really friendly, other times very threatening.
