No. Body temperature is regulated by several different body functions. Running your hands under water for that long will make your body send less blood into your hands so that you can't reduce overall body temperature. If you are running a real fever, then have a cool, not cold, bath, and then just wear a tshirt and underwear. Again, a cold bath will restrict blood flow to the skin, as will being completely naked.

I've never heard this direct a correlation. Where did you hear it?
I've heard that you can reduce corre temperature by running cold water over your head (where some 70% of body heat is released), and I've run COLD water over my wrists to help cool down (blood vessels run close to the surface there).
But 2° in 2 minutes? I don't think it will happen THAT quickly. That might even be dangerous.
And, of course, it would have to be cold water -- running hot water over your arms might give you burns, and would certainly not drop core temperature.

No, it makes you want to pee really bad. If you immerse your entire body in a cold temperature, then your body's temperature will go down by about two degrees.
You have to do something like sit in a freezer, lay down on a huge block of ice, stand outside in the middle of winter, something like that.

No. It would be very dangerous if the human body was that susceptable to temperature changes, because if one spent much time outside in northern winters, they'd have body temperatures of 40 degrees or less, and they'd die.

I do not know this a scientific fact but I do know it from experience....I was always told that the feet act as the body's natural air conditionders. If you are hot soak your feet...
Also I heard a doctor recently on a well known news show say the same thing he also added the head... which we all know you loose body heat from the head.

no, it does effect the temp, more so let, the stream of water run on palm side of your wrist, that is where your blood flow is closest to the surface of skin. it would take a while for two whole degrees to decrease, your more than likely to see 1/10 of degrees ( 100.2 to go down to 100.0 ) .
