I just read a question from some guy who considered himself as god's gift to women who was lamenting why someone as goodlooking, successful, church-going, and generally wonderful as himself keeps getting fixed up through dating services with "fat girls". Which led me to wonder why it is that a guy is willing to put up with girls with the personality of a grizzly bear, or the face of a musk ox, but god forbid she be sporting a few extra pounds. Take Sarah Jessica Parker for example- horsey face- yet everyone says she is soooo hot- yet how many people DOG women like Oprah who have pretty faces but not so great bodies... what gives???

The majority of people's first impression is the physical one, you have to be physically attractive in order to get people to notice you. Now I never said that you have to be thin, however I honestly feel that any heavy set girl would make dozens of heads turn, if only they would know how to dress for their size, fix their hair, wear a little make up and present themselves well. The problem now in days is that a lot of heavy women give up on them self's and only because your "fat" doesn't mean you have to be ugly. I don't blame the guys that don't go for the heavy set women because if they don't have enough self esteem to try to look cute why would any one want to be with someone like that. It really all comes down to the same thing, you can be so thin, six pack ,huge breast , and a J.Lo butt if you have a bitchy attitude or your the biggest slut around, your not marriage material and at the end, that's what most guys are looking for, a decent girl to bring home to meet the parents. Cuz you can only play the field for so long before it gets old.

There are guys that like heavy women. There are guys that like obese women.
But generally speaking, attraction grew out of the instinct of selecting the most healthy mate, to ensure the offsprings are healthy. For example, symmetry is considered a sign of health, so people that have symmetrical face tend to be considered more attractive. And obviously so are people that are physically fit (not necessarily body builders, but just fit and healthy looking people).
But in the modern world, it also shows that they care, and put in an effort to maintain. Same reason why someone that's clean neat and doesn't smell is a good thing, because they care enough to observe hygiene and pay attention to what they wear.
Really women don't need to look like they're from a magazine. If they look like they try, it's good enough for most guys. Same with guys. If you show effort, you don't have the be the best of the best, and most women will be fine with you.

Are you attracted to overweight men? I personally do not find "heavy" women attractive, but thank God not everyone is like me. I know that I am shallow to an extant. But I take very good care of my body and want my partner to as well. Everybody is different. And it is a question of health too. Fat is not O.K. everyone should know this. I know there are conditions that hamper issues, but for the most part it's nutrition and plain old laziness. And how dare you make fun of someones "horse face" while feeling sorry for yourself. At least she did not have a nose job to conform to society's standards. Now that is beautiful.

Ha ha good one! I agree with you. I guess it is true, guys only think with their "little heads". I find it funny how so many of these women look like little boys, I myself find it disturbing. I like curves, not bones. Women should have some meat, not straight up and down. I have seen some of the ugliest women and just because they are super super skinny, guys trip over their tongues. And yuck....Sarah Jessica, what a dog. Give that b itch a sandwich!!!

Well there are thick girls then there are fat chicks.
Thick girls are very sexy; think Serena Williams. Thick girls are larger sized women who are well proportioned. they may be pushing 200 lbs, but still hot.
Fat chicks, on the other hand, are not sexy. They aren't sexy because the proportions are wrong. A fat chick can be pushing 200 lbs just like the thick girl, but they have flabby arms, cankles, and just generally look lumpy.
So it's not necessarily an aversion to heavy girls, but an aversion to fat chicks.

I don't. I like Proportion. So if a women has a few extra pounds, I prefer it. And I'm not fat, myself.

Its not strange for a 14 year old lady to hearken to heavy metallic. not one of the bands indexed are heavy metallic, yet hear to what you opt for its a sturdy element to have different tastes on your friends.

well my husband loves my body and i am not fat, but def. not skinny, i am chunky i have had 3 children, but as he says there is more cushion for the pushin........ some men are just jerks
