I started jogging today. After only a few minutes, my chest started hurting and my throat felt very irrated, even though I had tried to breathe in through my nose and breathe out through my mouth. Should I try to run tomorrow and any suggestions on how to improve my performance?

Yes, it could be asthma. I am not sure if you have a precondition -- you may want to take it up with your doctor. You may want to repeat the process on a bike.

Also, if the air was polluted / or heavy humidity, it's going to be rough. Try to schedule your run during the early hours or at night when pollution and air temperature is lower.

Finally, since you just started running, you are probably just out of shape. Try doing a SLOW walk / jog mix... slowly building up the distance you can run without stopping. Also, keep in mind that the first couple of minutes of running is the worst. You are basically taking your heart rate and doubling it in a few minutes... so it's going to be hard. (Even after 7 years of running, the first quarter mile is the hardest). Warm up slowly, elevating your heart rate gradually.

Also, don't be afraid to breathe out of your mouth 100% of the time. There just isn't enough airway through your nose to supply the oxygen your body needs.

Yes, I'd run tomorrow, but keep your expectations lower. It takes a good month or two to build up a solid endurance base.

Feel free to drop me a line if you need further advice / suggestions.

Good luck.

What you may find is that if you go from doing nothing to running at im assuming a fast pace then that is not a good idea. You should always do a warm up as this helps your body gradually build up the intensity and will raise your heart rate, blood shunting to the muscles required and increase your breathing rate steadily. After warming up and stretching and taking on alot of fluid gradually build up your running pace over a few weeks. Also cool down after you have finished and dont push your body staright away

good its tough to feel you get 14 lbs in five weeks... however it's feasible in the event you paintings tough at it and feature a best nutrition... four miles a night time is lovely well, you generally get quicker/extra staying power in the event you keep it up via an extended time... which means like within the recreation of soccer you must be mentally rough.. while it will get rough simply hold going in the event you wanna puke hold going till you truthfully do.. since despite the fact that it could harm to hold pushing beyond your limits the suffering will leave practically instantly when you ultimately give up.. after which your frame will realize your going to head farther always so it'll regulate itself to hold homeostasis longer.

you might want to run slower, or in incriments. It could be asthma, or something.
