Yes, family does'nt necessarily mean that you have to be blood related, it could be close friends as well. Families come in different structures whether they be in-laws, friends, steps, foster, etc. as long as you feel you have a close bond, love, and care for one another. You're very luck to have a friend such as yours and her too!!!

I have a very special group of sisters who share an email list; we are so very close and have all the love that sisters would, all the fights sometimes too - and even screw up and call each other by the wrong name occasionally - we share everything with confidence that no one will think we're stupid or silly. It's great! I'm glad you found that kind of bond. It is just as strong. We call it, "Chosen Sisters".....

You know what, thats how my bestfriend and i call each other.. sometimes you feel like you are related cause you know each more than anyone else in the family.. it's easier to cry and laugh with friends . so blood is not really that makes two people to get closer it's your love that brings you together.

Did you ever see the movie Joe Dirt. One of my favorite lines from it is home is where you make it. You don't need to be related by blood to be family. I grew up in a small neighborhood and was the only girl surrounded by boys who were older then me. They are the ones who were there for me when I had my kids , my blood family was 2500 miles away, they were there for me when I went through a terrible divorce and they are the ones who will give me away when I get married in march. Home is where you make it, and family is what you make it.

Of course you are. My best friend is 3 years younger than me and we call each other sisters all the time. We have a sisters relationship. She needs me and I need her.
