It sounds so counter-intuitive... If nothing else think of how others will look at you at the gym. You walk in, you rack a whole bunch of weight on the bar, you lift it 2 inches and hold it as long as you can, then you put the weight back down, unrack the weights, and walk out. Everyone else will be shaking thier heads saying "he is quiting already? why does he even bother to come in?"

Here is a decent overview of the system:

I'd never heard of it before, but next time I'm really short of time, perhaps I'll try this. It is hardly worth changing into my workout clothes to do.

Go to the explosive fitness group page on yahoo.com. Just type explosive fitness in yahoo and it will show you the way. also see www.precisiontraining.com I have started using it and it seems to work. Many people get ticked off by the idea of it because they don't want to admit that they have spent way too many hours in the gym. That said, I have not been on it long enough to tell you about long term benefits. Most workout programs will show good results in the beginning and that is where I am at. If you are really serious about this training method, check out those websites and think about getting the Explosive Fitness equipment otherwise you have to do it at the gym which (i agree with the first response) does make me feel ridiculous putting on all that weight just to take it off a minute later.
