I've had both and this is what I think. DishNet is great for sports freaks because they have a LOT of sports channels. You can record some shows too, but not watch another show at the same time. Pulling up one you recorded is super fast. HOWEVER...DirecTV had some channels that were not offered with DishNet that I really really wanted. Now with DirecTV, you can record a show and watch another one at the same time. No problem. Pulling up shows you recorded is a little slower, but not a big deal.

I don't know about DirecTV.com.

dont listen to terry f. she/he has no idea what he/she is talking about. you def. can record one show and watch another. direct tv has more sports channels including the nfl package and the yes network if you like the yankees. dish is a little more affordable but their are rumors out there that direct tv may take over dish

I perfer DISH because i dont watch much tv and you can get a decent package for 19.99 a month. My husband is all for DIRECTTV because you have more package options. They have NFL ticket and you can get all of the college basketball games. So it depends on your tv needs what one is better. I will say Direct TV's tivo is better and has more options then Dish DVR.
