Satin is a type of weave, smooth, almost slick, and usually shiney. True Satin is made of Cotton, but because cotton stains very easily, and certainly wrinkles into a coma, it is being make in Polyester now...Poly Satin is NOT Cotton Satin, but is a decent replacement...easy to wash, doesn't like to wrinkle if you remove it from the dryer and use Permapress cycle. IT is a very tight weave, so is sort of slick, but NOT like cotton. YOu may want to investigate 600 thread count Egyptian cotton, slick, satin-like, but NOT shiney, and NOT slick...slick bed sheets can present real problems ... NO TRACTION! Now, this may not mean much to you, but it certainly does to ME! There are just some actions in bed that require some traction...use your imagination. Good luck

Satin is a style of weave NOT a material from which fabric is made. you could make satin from kevlar or carbon fiber or cotton or silk or polyester or wool or anything else that you could turn into a yarn.
satin is a weave in which you go over 5 or more and under one and repeat.

no polyester is man made, satin is not it comes from a plant or a bug. you can get 100% satin sheets at bed, bath and beyond, lines and things, bloomingdales, nordstroms, saks fifth avenue. they are really expensive starting at $150.00 or higher and that's just for the the sheets we are not talking comforters or bed in a bag. but i hope makes your room look great you feel great!
