I have $10k, and want to help society with it. Should i give it to a charity, or buy a plate and picture at a GOP fundraiser. Which would have a bigger impact ?

CHARITY!!!!!
Find a reputable charity that will put the most percentage of your money towards what it does. If possible, find a small local non-profit that works directly with people in your community and find out what they need. Talk about "bang for your buck!"

Please donate it to a legitimate charity. There are so many people who need help. Or, if you'd rather help animals or the environment, you could help them through charity too. The GOP plate and picture won't do much other than put a bit of money in the government's purse, which isn't necessarily bad, but it's not likely to go to something so helpful (and it may just go to frivolous spending).

It is better for charity. Do your research first. Some charities keep most of the money and only give 1-5% to the community. The rest is spent on administration, salaries and so on and so forth.

Why dont you offer 10- $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors or college students...that would directly contribute to the future of the country. You could have a essay contest and pick winners. If you do, let me know--i have a 20 year old daughter in college on academic scholarships that dont pay for all of her tuition and she would write a great essay for you if you help her pay for nursing school : )

well first...me and you could be best friends and you could hand me some....but being serious....give scholarships!.....you could also help charity...but don't give ALL your money away! spend it on you...give yourself a vacation or something....and if you need help spending the rest contact me!..lol...i could use it!
