Religion does not inhibit scientific progress, stem cell research is fine, embryonic stem cell is not. Abortion is murder, under ANY circumstances, medical marijuana is a civil law, not a spiritual one. And don't wonder, He will let you know. By the way, did you know that all the stem cells that labs could use are in the umbilical cords after birth, and are discarded. Did you know that Planned Parenthood was started by a nazi sympathizer as a way to stop all the black women from having so many kids? Did you also know that at this time abortion is a multimillion dollar business? The Nazis slaughtered 6 million Jews in about 4 years, America slaughters 4 million infants every year. Do you know that the abortion technique most often used is ripping the babies apart? If it's later in the pregnancy they just pull him almost out and jam a pair of scissors in the back of his skull and use a vaccumn to suck his little brain out. If it's a chemical abortion they burn the baby till he dies. Yet you who support this evil think the Christians are nuts!

First off, most of the early scientists were Christians (Newton, Kepler, Pasteur, Paschal, etc) and they made major scientific advancements. God created science, that is, the testing of theories and ideas according to certain criteria to determine whether they be true or not. We are not against science at all, just pseudo-science and philosophies masquerading as science.
Second, no one is inhibiting stem cell research, we just don't want to tax money going to infant stem cell research on ethical grounds and because adult stem cell research and umbilical cord stem cell research as yielded results, infant stem cell research has yielded no results. Put our money in results, not maybes. Abortion a scientific advancement? You must be kdding. I don't believe the Church has taken a stance on medicinal marijuana use. We don't have a problem with science, just bad science.

You are judged by your sins if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, but if you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior then your sins are forgiven by the blood of Jesus Christ. And that then you will be judged by your righteous. That's why Jesus was given as the perfect sacrifice was to pay for your sins. If you have not then I suggest that you ask Jesus to come into your heart and life today.
God is not going to flood the world. He promised that He would not flood the earth with water ever again. That's why we have a rainbow hung in the sky as a promise that it will not flood it again. And God never breaks a promise.
As for stem cell research, well it is murder, why would you kill a life to save a life?

Primarily because several religious leaders actually think they are speaking for God. God isn't against science. Only these narrow minded idiots who think they speak for God are against science, or sex, or dancing, or fun or....you get the idea. Ask Jimmy Swaggart why he thinks he speaks for God. I'm sure he can explain it to you

Why does religion inhibit cultural progess? Both good questions...
The Church is afraid that change will lead people astray from their brainwashing.

Religion thinks it has all the answers when it has none of the answer. Europe has given up on religions and they are far better off than when they had religion.

Most people are afraid to find out that what they believe might not actually be true (or they blame the devil for trickery).
