In a way, because humans have neglected our God-given responsibility to be stewards. So the global warming as a result of that lack is contributing to the heat wave in New York.

More likely global warming or El Nino.

Disobedience of nature's laws that causes catastrophe doesn't often come from God. It usually comes from our own selfishness. God just made the laws.

He might have something to do with time and place, tho.
