Absolutely not. Some dogs love it and have to be dragged
out and chained or they jump back in.

However, you need to make sure than when you're both
done, you clean the salt (and other gunk) out of his fur as
it can be an irritant. It can also get pretty gungy if you don't.

Also, dogs can drown just as humans can. Make sure that
you watch out for rip-tides, him tiring to the point of being
unable to swim and temperature shock.

He WILL shake all over you. Just be one with that.

Your dog should be fine unless he/she drinks a lot of the salt water while playing/swimming in it. Salt water can dehydrate a dog if they drink a lot of it. Just be sure to bring plenty of fresh water for your pooch.

My dog loves the beach.

Make sure you take plenty of fresh water for your dog to drink. If your dog does drink the salt water he may vomit, or get the runs.

When you leave be sure to give your dog a good bath to get all of the salt & sand off.

It shouldn't be too bad. I have seen plenty of dogs swim in salt water and they are just fine. If your dog starts throwing up then there is your first sign. But he/she should be OK. Nothing bad has happened yet? So no worries
