It sounds as if you need confirmation of whether or not you'll be able to see him for the days after as well as when he first gets in..... being that you don't live near the base. In most cases, they are able to see their loved ones shortly after their arrival at the base. They have lots to do when they first return, and that takes a little time. Since you are not married, he will be required to stay on base, so you should try to get some lodging on or near his base as soon as possible, as it fills up very fast. The lodging around military bases are generally flexible when they can be, so try to book a day before his arrival up to a week afterwards, depending on how long you can stay. Our son is due back in September and we will be proudly awaiting his return out at Twenty Nine Palms in Cali. I wish you both well!

My daughter is coming home in Nov also, I am also going to that base when she comes home, and gets off the plane. My Son-in-law (her husband - which is being deployed this month to Iraq also) told me that we will get to see/hug her, and she will have to go and do the paperwork (the beginning of in-processing) which might take a little while, then she can leave with me.
I haven't seen my daughter since Nov. when she got married, and she left in January. I am very excited about her coming home, as I know you are also. Her husband won't be home until next August, what a way to spend your 1st Anniversary,,,
REGARDLESS of the wait, it will all be worth while the time that we have to wait for them before they can go home with us... They will have made it this far, what is a couple more hours... "Hurry up & wait"
Blessings on you and your boyfriend - Thank him for all of us for what he is doing there!!!

Make sure you get a pass to get thru the gates, if i was you i would do it the day before the lines can be quite long, When my hubby came home we left after the commander spoke then we were free to go. Just to let you know he will get only a few day off then go right back to work. As far as the gym if the plane is on time you may have to wait longer, because they have to put weapons up.

The military is all about "hurry up and wait".
Plans change often and constantly, so be patient as best you can.
Be glad he's back and please make him feel at home again !!!!
