I think that our mistreatment of Mother Earth (Gaia) has created a seriously imbalance of the planet. She is trying to re-balance things (Thus all the natural disasters!). We are on the cusp of a new age -- things will change drastically soon. Some believe that unless mankind makes major changes in its attitude towards the Earth and each other than soon things will go kablooey... but I think we are just very close to a major shift.

As far as religion is concerned -- it concerns me that some Christians are of the attitude that we shouldn't bother trying to take care of the planet or improve upon it, or clean up the mess we've made because the end of the world is coming so why should we bother?

I worry about Gaia because of this.

Fortunately there are plenty of people out there that understand the need to clean up our act and get the Earth healthy again!

The end is inevitable for all of us. We just dont really know when. For centuries, the end has been near. Of course we are closer now than ever before. Religion just like the current politics tries to have us under a veil of fear which I believe is the reason there are so many fanatical religious people in this country. Live in fear and salvation awaits. What a joke. Yes it is true that the forces of nature can engulf us at any moment. Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Hurricaines, volcanic actitivies are and will be triggered by our disregard of the natural forces that sustain us. The year 2012 seems to be the ending point according to various cultures. Will it be the end of time? I dont know as noone knows. It has been suggested that this will not be the end of time but the end of an era of the conciciousness that now exists. Those with global consiciousness and global awareness may vanish from this plain of existence and shift to another level of existence unseen by those who will be left behind to wage their wars and the other evils that exist. In the mean time I do not live in fear of the end of the world. I simply live my life to the fullest day by day because tommorow is not promised to any of us.

People have thought "the end is near" for 2000 years every since the doomsday religion of Christianity was born. Hal Lindsay said it would happen in 1988...and he was wrong just like all the other tards that believe in God.

No question that religion is a human concept that has far outlived its usefulness and now only acts as a tool to keep people separated. We are all stuck on this little blue dot in the middle of nothing and we don't have another home so we better start using our mental energies to work towards making things right...or the end may be near for us anyway.

Yes, I feel the "End" is near. No, I don't think religion is to blame... religious fanatics, may be partly to blame, but regular religion- no.

In the Bible, I read of signs that have happend, some that are happening, some that haven't happened yet.

One passage I remember says that the "End" as you call it will be like the arrival of Spring- there isn't an exact date and time, but you see the signs (snow melts, days get longer, trees start to bud, etc) and know it's on the way.

I expect the "End" to come some time within the next 3-5 years. As I said, there are things prophesied in the Bible that haven't happened quite yet.

I do feel that the end is very near. God said to watch the signs of the times. Everything that is going on in the middle east is just fulfilling God's word. Don't take my word for it, read the bible, it's all there. But no, I don't think religion is to blame. I place the blame right where it belongs, on MAN. The world today is so much like Sodom & Gomorrah were before God finally said enough is enough and destroyed them. Man brings distruction upon himself and I fear that this time we may have gone to far.

I don't believe we should give up hope. I believe prayer absolutely changes things.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

God Bless You.

Wow, do you really wake up feeling the balance is greatly out of whack? That might be something more than just apprehension of the world's demise. It could be an emotional unbalance that can be controlled.

Religion is not the cause for anything that is happening in your bedroom in the morning. If you choose not to worship in any religion, relax! You don't have to.....

Honestly, my religion or my neighbor's religion is not the reason for your paranoia. A lack of any religion is a possibility, though.

Jesus is that greater force. The end is near, although no one knows how near. And we're not gonna be engulfed we're gonna be resurrected by the rapture. Hope your ready. And the balance is out of whack because Satan is trying to fight Jesus for people's soul, although he will never win. Read Revelations honey.

Why can't people live in peace with each other and various religions?
Does God want us to blow each other up in his name? I THINK NOT.

So why does certain followers of religions try to enforce their belief on others.

LIVE AND LET LIVE IS THE RULE I LIVE BY.

No i do not think the end is near but then i do not live in a war zone.

My GRANDAD always said the next world war will start in the east. He may be right the way things are going.

Live each day as though it were your last, be optimistic as what is the point in existing if you are not living.

Yes religion is too blame for a lot of things. Look over the years, there have been hundreds of 'holy wars'. Terrorism is based on religion. Persecution and hatred is bread out of fearing what you don't understand. Religion has a lot to answer for.

I believe the end is near, I do not believe religion is to "blame". I think a lack of religion would be more likely at fault.
