It really depends on what state that you live in.
In Minnesota and Massachusetts, there is no sales tax on clothing. In Oregon, there is no sales tax on anything. In New York, the exemption is on clothing that costs $110 or less. Also, it's for the week of August 28th. In Illinois, there is no sales tax holiday.
These are just examples of how different the tax laws are when it comes to sales tax.
