Hit the other ankle then keep walking it till you can't do it no more. Have you friends carry you home to your favorite chair with cigars and Television Remote control. Raise bot feet off the ground for 24 -48 hrs. Get off the couch and start over again. If you have to get help then do so and sitt again for 24 -48 hrs. You will heal equally and even out your gait.

Ice for 10 minutes, then rest and a couple of Ibuprophen. Keep the ice going 10 minutes on, 10 off until the swelling goes down...probably for a couple of hours. Keep your foot elevated for today. Tomorrow, a heating pad might feel better for a day or two. Keep off your feet for the next couple of days, and keep your foot up while sitting. You might want to consider checking with your doctor to see if it's fractured. You wouldn't want it to heal wrong. It could give you problems in the future. <*)))><

Well, what'd you go and do a silly thing like that for????

If you can't walk on it, I would have someone drive you to the ER for an X-ray.

for home care, which they will probably tell you at the ER, remember RICE

Rest
Ice
Compression (wrap it!)
Elevation

Take Ibuprofin (motrin) if you can, that will help with any swelling.

Go to hospital or Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate...
Or try hot water then cold water. It sounds like you bruised the muscle

Keep it elevated, keep the ice packs on.

If it doesn't get better in 12 hours or so, go get it x-rayed.

Take ibuprofin for the pain.

you coulda fractured it. do you have insurance? either way, you may need to get to the dr. i've done that before and it hurt like hell, but i could still walk on it though. get a bag of frozen peas and put it on it, that way, it will get the whole thing colder (thats what my doc told me to do when i broke my toe)

signs that u broke it:

as soon as it happened, did you get nauseous?
is it like a burning, searing, pain?
is it swollen?
can you not move it?

if you answered yes to any of these qs, it could be broke. that's what my doc asked me when i broke my knuckle and i answered yes to all of them.

how hard did you hit it? did you break a bone? but you better see a doctor and try to stay off that ankle.

OUCH! Do you think you broke a bone? If you did this several days ago and still can't bear weight, then you need to see a doctor.

Fool! Be more careful with yourself. I would sit and put my ankle up for a while.
