All needles in this country are mandated by law to be made sterile. If they are used for lethal injection or just injection of a vaccine or whatever, they are made sterile.

Good question.
On another note. I think they should use morphine for lethal injections. There would be no pain and therefore it could not be considered cruel or unusual punishment. This may help us to clear out the backlog of death row killers so we don't have to suffer their presence or pay for their maintanence any longer.

I've seen it in movies where at the very last second or even after the first of many injections the execution was callled off. So they sterilize just in case!!!???

lol i thought about that too

my only guess is to keep any complications from arising. an infection may interract w/the lethal concoction. i really have no idea.

Perhaps so the person giving the injection won't be at risk from an accidental "prick".

who says they do?

and some of you are confused- the person is dying like within a few minutes of this shot. they're not going to get an infection and die from it in like two minutes

No kidding, they should use a rusted one that has been used for every death sentence since 1972.
