Well, it seems that it is a no-win situation when you are trying to establish credit. You need credit to get credit. Start small with a cell phone plan or department store credit card. Perhaps get a secured Visa card where you deposit an amount of money in a savings account and they give you a credit card in the amount of your deposit. It works exactly like a Visa, you make payments (on time!) and it is reported to the credit bureaus as a Visa card with a good payment history. One bank that offers the secured credit cards is www.bankofamerica.com but you can find them at several banks.

hONESTLY IT'S HARD TO GET CREDIT WHEN YOU HAVE NO CREDIT. NO CREDIT COULD BE JUST AS BAD AS BAD CREDIT. tRY TO GET YOU A FIRST PREMIERE CREDIT CARD OR AN ASPIRE OR TRIBUTE CARD. THE FINANCE CHARGES MAY BE HIGH BUT THIS IS WHAT YOU MAY HAVE TO DO. ALSO OPEN A SAVINGS ACCOUNT AND TALK TO THE BANK WHERE YOU OPENED IT AND ASK TO DO A SIGNATURE LOAN WHEN YOU GET YOUR CREDIT CARDS DO NOT MAX THEM OUT IF YOUR LIMIT IS 300 YOU SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE AT LEAST 225 AVAILBLE. ALWAYS PAY YOUR BILLS ON TIME. IN ABOUT 6-12 MONTHS YOU IN THE DOOR. DONT APPLY FOR EVERY CARD U SEE. ONE MORE WAY IS TO PIGGY BACK OFF SOME ONE WHO HAS GOOD CREDIT. HAVE THEM ADD YOU ON TO THEIR ACCOUNT. IF ITS AN OLD CARD LIKE AMERICAN EXPRESS OR DISCOVER AND THEY HAVE HAD IT FOR 5 YEARS YOUR CREDIT WOULD GO BACK 5 YEARS AS WELL AND THAT WOULD GIVE YOU A HISTORY OF CREDIT. NEVER ABUSE CREDIT. ILEARNED THE HARD WAY BUT NOW I'M COOL
GOOD LUCK

First of all get a checking account. Never bounce any checks. Ask that bank to give you a small limit credit card and keep paying it off in full every month. You should get increases in the limit periodically and keep paying it off in full each month. Apply for other items, and you should be OK. NEVER MISS A PAYMENT or go over your limit and you will be on your way to good credit!

Try this site to get a low limit credit card that reports to all 3 credit agencies. You build your limit by a good payment history.
