Well it is not exactly true about Americans not drinking until they are 21. That is the law but laws are ment to be broken. When I was a kid, I lived in a dry county. That means that where I lived, there was no place to buy alcohol. But the county south of us, 25 km away was not dry. As soon as we could drive, 16 years old, we jumped in the car and drove down to that county and paid someone to go in and buy us some beer or a bottle of whiskey. Guys would hang around outside, waiting for us.
We would then get drunk and drive home. God must have been watching over us, because we did not get in any car accidents.
Now as to my favorite alcoholic drink. I am a beer person mainly and my favorite beer is Hieneken. But I will drink almost any brand as long as it is not light beer. I rather like a whiskey on the rocks also.
How about you? Vodka?

My favorite alcoholic beverage is tequila (and no, not that cheap swill Jose Cuervo -- give me Don Julio Anejo). Yes, the drinking age throughout the U.S. is 21, and in this country it's a good thing because we don't have good public transportation like most of Europe, and Europeans are generally more responsible about their alcohol consumption than Americans. Don't know if it's because most Europeans grow up with it, so it's no big deal to them...At any rate, when the drinking age was 18 in Michigan we were losing hundreds of high school graduates every year to alcohol-related accidents. The problem isn't completely gone, but a lot less teenagers are ending up dead since the drinking age went up to 21.

I never liked any alcoholic drink when I first tasted it except: bitter Italian, French, and Danish liqueurs like Campari, Cynar, Gammel Dansk, and Suze. But I always hated the effect. A sweet liqueur I liked almost immediately was Strega. But in general, I don't like to drink. I'll have mineral water and a slice of lemon, lime, or orange or iced tea.( Why do so many people drink?)
I drank beer underage in Great Britain, never liking the stuff, and was hit by a car. I didn't even try much of anything for 15 years after that. Yes, I care about the drinking age. It matters. Ask the family members who've lost loved ones to alcohol-related car accidents!!!

My favorite drink right now is a Mojito, they are soooo good...I had one for the first time this spring and I am totally hooked...generally I like tropical drinks (anything mixed with pineapple juice) and wines, but I'll drink beer too (fills me up too quickly)...Americans aren't supposed to drink until they're 21, but most of us at least try something alcoholic before then...and some get full on drunk all the time while still in high school...as for whether we care about it...I think some of us do and some don't it's just one of those things...

I never drank an entire alcoholic beverage until I was 21. And since then my tastes have changed a lot. I wouldn't recommend any of that crap I drank back then! My current favorites are White Russians and Italian Surfers.

Long Island Ice Tea. I think I was 21. No we do not care about it because when we go to college or turn 18 the alcohol is already available to us through other means.

I like Seagram's Crown Royal - second best, Seagram's VO.
When I was young in NY, the drinking age was still 18 there (but the voting age was 21). The first time I drank it was in someone's home (with a large group of friends). We drank something called Ballentine's Scotch (I got drunk, sick, and in lots of trouble when I arrived home - I was a couple of years under 18).

I had my first alcoholic drink when I was 17, it was a Budweiser beer. It didn't taste that good. My friends and I were just goofing around.
My favorite drink now is Mango Moquiato and Madori Sour (blended).
