how old is the dog? does it have health problems? what type of house breaking has it had? as a rule a dog will not poop where it sleeps, so if it is passable for you to tie your dog up near its bed while you are out this could help. but remember that after returning home your first priority is to care for your dogs needs and take it out . have an hours interaction time with it take it back out side them put it back on its bed lead. keep this up and with in a few weeks time baring your lack of interest OR health problems your dog might have all should be well. good luck

Sounds like your dog is not housebroken. You need to get your dog a regular feeding schedule to regulate his bowel movements. In addition, you need to take your dog out whether or not he needs to go. Once he goes outside, you need to praise him profusely.

Try associating a command with the act, I use "go potty" and when she does, I tell her "good potty". Since your dog is about a year old, I would think that after he/she eats, it will need to go to the bathroom after about 3 to 4 hours. Depends on the size of your dog.
Hope that helps.

I don't know if I just had good luck or what, but here's what worked for me. When I first got my puppy, I'd cover the bathroom floor with news papers, and put him in there at night. Then, I gradually decreased it til it got down to one newspaper on the floor. So then he knew if he was in the house to go on a paper, but once he got to go out side (it was a very cold winter when he was born) in the spring, he made the transformation himself, and preffered that, and I never had a problem with him going in the house.

Your dog needs to be re-trained. If you can throughout the day take him outside. When he goes, even just urinating, praise him a lot. You must be consistent with his training, use the same door to take him outside, try to keep to the same time schedule, and always praise him when he does go. Accidents are bound to happen as you are re-training him, don't hit or smack, don't put his nose in it, but in a very stern voice tell him "NO" then take him outside, choose a word like "poo", "bathroom" or anything you want him to associate with going and stick with it. Even if he doesn't go outside after going inside still take him out. You must be patient and consistent with this if you want it to work. Any soiled areas in the house must be quickly cleaned and disinfected to aid in his re-training. Lots of luck.

Get those indoor dog pads. Put it over the area where the dog keeps going to the bathroom. When your dog wakes up put him on the pad. He will catch on you have to be persistant, and consistant.

it's still not housebroken? get a cage, first, and lock the dog in there for about 6 hours a day. it has to learn to hold it. and then when you get home from work, take your dog out before you do anything.

try training him with those training pads....I started with mine when he was about 3 months old and he still uses them. they have a natural scent that makes the dog want to go on them. they are about $12.50 for a pack of 50 at walmart

If he/she starts pooping say NO and then hit his nose(not too hard), and then take him outside to wherever you want him to poop. It should take a few times, but should eventually work.
