If you don't know what a "hedge witch" is, please google the term before answering.

Personally, I think that Rae Beth has some of the best listing of books, links, resources, and advice that I've seen concerning hedge witch-ing. Here's the link:

It's hard because a lot of a hedge witch's knowledge is passed down, comes from lore, or by word of mouth. I suggest starting a grimoire of your own (be it paper or online...we do live in an electronic universe now m'dear) and write down the tips, tricks, spells, remedies, and sage advice that you find.

My best advice to you...read, read, read. Read folklore books like the Foxfire books, read herbal texts, and anything you can get your hands on about hedge witches. Happy reading and weaving!

LOL I was just looking at the definition of a 'hedge' witch and I guess I am one! Wikipedia describes a hedge witch as someone who prefers simplistic magick over a more ceremonial approach and concentrates a lot on herbalism, and healing the self and others.

I don't like overly-complex, ceremonial type spells or rituals. I write all my own stuff. I love to write rituals and spells. It's a fun outlet for some of my creativity.

I also make magick wands. I have learned a lot about the magickal correspondences of different woods and stones that way.

I am interested in herbalism, but right now I'm really interested in healing through crystals and stones, and I am also a reiki II practitioner and am always giving self-healings and healings to people I meet (mostly online, long distance) who need them. (Free of charge -- who am I to refuse someone what they need just because they don't have the money for it?)

I'm not sure what specifically you want to know, but if you have any more specific questions feel free to message me!

I don't have personal experience with hedge witchcraft, but from what I've seen of PaganForum, it would likely be a good resource for you.

Wouldn't hedge witches have disappeared once the laws against witchcraft in the UK were repealed?

Maybe you need to define hedge witch.

I am an eclectic Wiccan but I do have a lot in common with hedge witchcraft. Blessed be.

is a hedge witch related to the hedge hog? Because I saw a hedge hog the other day and I can ask him if he has any hedge witches he knows.

I'm more of a shrub witch myself. Or am I a tree witch? Maybe I'm a waterfall witch. I can't decide.
