The Jews always have been and ALWAYS WILL BE God's chosen people! Both the Old and New Testaments make that clear. Just because the Jews essentially killed Christ by using the Romans to do so, does not mean that God rejected them. Jesus himself was a Jew and the Messiah whom God allowed to be killed (by the Jews/Romans) for the Jews' own salvation. The New Testament makes it clear that God's sacrifice of his Son, Jesus, was first for the Jews and then opened the doors to the rest of the world to join in that salvation. But that inclusion of Gentiles (the rest of the world) in no way excluded the Jews - God's chosen people. Romans 1:16 "...the Gospel (that is the "good news" of Christ's death and resurrection)... is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the JEW FIRST, and also to the Gentile."

Also, it is important to note that only certain Jews were responsible for Christ's death -- namely the religious leaders who wanted to keep their corrupt leadership intact when the truth that Christ was preaching was threatening to overturn all of that. All of the Jews were awaiting the arrival of the Messiah but few expected him to come in the form of Jesus -- most expected a political or military leader to bring salvation from Israel's enemies rather than a divine sacrifice in the form of God's Son who brought spiritual salvation. The Jews who reject Jesus are still looking for the Messiah, while those that acknowledge Him as God are referred to as Messianic Jews and are akin to Christian Gentiles.

What it all boils down to is that, through Jesus, God has offered forgiveness and salvation to the whole world, and He wants to see everyone accept that offer -- ESPECIALLY His chosen people, the Jews regardless or what individuals or people groups have done in the past.

And in case anyone is wondering... I am not a Jew, but because they ARE God's chosen people, I have a special place in my heart for them. I honestly do not understand how any true Christian could feel otherwise.

They were God's chosen people way before Jesus was ever born. Just because you are a chosen people does not mean that you can't turn from right and go bad. Even the worst of killers were good at one time and well respected. Didn't stop them from going bad. NOt His chosen people any more.

so many answers...where to start?
1. the gospels are fiction so jews didn't kill jesus
2. the gospel account has romans killing jesus so if it is accurate, it still doesn't matter
3. if the gospel account is right (ha) only a small number of jews were ever really involved, not "the jews"
4. being chosen is an eternal relationship with god governing laws and ritual...what does that have to do with jesus

The Nation of Israel did not, collectivly, kill jesus. It was the leadrership of a sect of the jews that instigated Jesus' crusifixtion... But it was by Roman Law that it was done... as the jews were ocupied by the Romans and could not execute anyone themselves.

The Nation of Israel, not todays political state of Israel, remains God's chosen people and will provide the 144,000 evangelists during the Tribulation period.

They don't believe Jesus was the Messiah. So he wasn't the son of God. So God doesn't care about Jesus in their faith.

In addition, since all those other Christians think this guy Jesus was the son of God and he wasn't, the Jews are the choosen ones because they know the truth.
