Can someone allay my fear that Israel will escalate and start using nuclear ordnance ?

And please don't tell me that the UN has a resolution for this and an article for that, as they seem to me, to be the embodiment of procrastination !!! What will prevent 'who ever has the bigger stick' ?
We got away with it at the Bay of Pigs - but will ''my one is bigger than yours'' prevail this time - maybe Clatu will land & Gort can do something about it - what do you think please - because we don't seem to have got out of the playground - do we?

The best I can do is say that they WONT because of the proximity of the opponent. Now the scary part is that the opponent would not hesitate to steal one an turn it agaisnt them.

The economic reasons for not doing so (By Isreal.) are also a consideration. They have been the only true US ally in the middle east since they set up shop in the 40's. The US has always backed them an counted on them in return to back them in the UN.

The reason they got nukes was so that they could stand off the Egyptians, back when they had a better trained an larger force then Isreal. To be honest They wouldnt consider screwing up the regions sole money maker the export of oil.

If you just have to sit up at night worried about something worry about North Korea. China is too busy trying to figure out how to make money off of the rest of the world,so killing us wouldnt best best for the bottom line. North Korea on the other hand...They have alot of unfed mouths an no desire to see them fed so a war, nuke or otherwise, would actually be a benefit to them. AN to be honest they would most likely strike with a chemical attack because that does more damage to the opponents mentality then a nuke strike. Word for the wise, if you are out in a public place an you notice three or four people at random pass out or fall over twitching take a DEEP breath an run like he(( for the nearest open air.

The other consideration is a pyshcological one, if you are losing sleep over this then the battle is half won, by whoever is causing you to lose sleep. Rest is the best weapon to have on your side because it gives your brain the ability to process data quickly an correctly.

Sleep a lil sounder knowing that if someone does toss a nuke, it WONT start WWIII. Because everybody will be too busy trying to figure out how to turn a profit, to worry about pushing a button. That is just one of the wonderful benefits of a global economy.

America wants to control the Middle East, Israel wants the land they say God gave them. I suspect both America and Israel are trying to drag more western countries into this war, through the U.N.
Iraq, the news tells us, is on the verge of civil war, ' on the verge ' that's a laugh. This will pull in some other Islamic countries, who will want their piece of Iraq as it falls apart. More American troops will be needed....

I think the main reason for Israel to use their nuclear arsenal is the fact that due to the size of its neighbouring countries it would be farely certain that they would suffer just as heavy casualties through collateral damage as it would the intended victims. The fallout and radiation would just as likely hit their own citizens as it would their neighbours. Makes you wonder why on earth they actually did develop a nuclear weapons program in the first place.

depends what other countries get in volved with the middle east................but it only takes 1 country to launch a nuke and there will be a global war..........israel will not launch one because it dosent need to.It has enough conventional weapon supplys to handle this crisis.It will come from iran/north korea..........and when it does happen there will also be an attack on the USA
by multiple countries because everyone wants rid of the big boy, there will be alot of death and destruction in the world from all out war but nuclear war will not be as bad as u think.......

we have never experianced nuclear waepons in our life time. Its really a castrophy. oh yes. its not those old weapons. these are some serious bombs.

no , i think we should all be worried, to an extent as if israel starts to use nuclear weapons then if america starts using theirs , the whole planet will be wiped out , we have enough to destroy the planet 3 times over at least

israel has neutron bombs good thing is neurton bombs theoretically only kill all life and don't destroy buildings with minimal radiation fallout. there does'nt that put your mind at ease.
