I want to move out but I don't know how to tell my mom without her flipping out or getting mad at me...Any advice?

I am 18...well I will be on the 12th (but I'm still in high school) BUT I wanna move in with my Nana!(Grandma)

Well, it depends on your age and your relationship with your parents. If you are underage, maybe it is best to wait.

First, get your act together, have a plan as to what kind of living arrangement you would like to have, then, show how you'll be able to afford living alone (or with a roommate).

Next, give subtle hints to your mom, ask her questions about what she thinks of children moving out of the house, etc.

Then, when you feel ready, just tell her straight out. Do not try to argue with her if she gets upset. You should be ready with whatever reaction she might show you. Mothers are very protective of their children, so if she gets upset it's because she loves you.

The bottom line is that you should show her that you are now an adult and can handle life as it is.
