I'm sure someone out there will go absolutely nuts knowing that some of us give our babies a little people food. Some say that it is not a good thing. But I think if its done in moderation you're okay. I wouldn't feed it junk or anything. My Blossom loves when I'm having chicken for dinner and I share a bit with her. We also have "Cheese Time" at the house. My 7 year old collie gets his pills put in cheese...now all 6 cats and both dogs are VERY familiar with the sound of a slice of cheese being unwrapped and they all sit patiently waiting for me to give them each their fair share of cheese.
I also have a Siamese male who is very aware of when milk is being poured...especially over cereal...the instant he hears a spoon clank against the bowl he is in my lap trying to get his head into my bowl to drink the milk.

yes it's bad to give any animal human food.
1. Human food is laden with preservatives and salt, neither of which can an animal's system breakdown - this could cause long-term problems for your pet's internal health.
2. Animals are domesticated from the wild where they do not eat highly processed food. Thus, they have not adapted to highly processed food.
3. It teaches your pet to beg for human food and promotes bad behavior around the table of sofa when you're snacking.
If you're going to give her "people" food, make sure it's whole foods like unprocessed meat/fish, vegetables and fruits. No additives.
And yes, chocolate is actually MORE toxic to cats than to dogs, it's just that cats are not usually drawn to chocolate. Dairy, popcorn and onions are also big no-nos to feed dogs, cats and rodents (aside from small amounts of cheese - something about the molding process helps)

I have 6 cats and I have always fed them human food my oldest cat is 17 and she is still kicking. It really depends on what and how much you feed them. I would suggest you watch how much human food they eat. My cats love hot dogs lol.

Small bits like you describe are fine, and I sometimes let my cats have the water I drain from tuna fish. But don't give her spicy things, or salty things. Otherwise, cat food is what she needs.

so long as she's eating a good quality cat food, it's not a big deal. some "human" treats can be good for her, actually. my cats like to eat lettuce, for instance.
keep cats away from garlic and onions.

Never give them onion and garlic. Pork is not good for them either. Carbohydrates (like potatoes, pasta, etc) are not normally part of a cat's diet, but they won't harm them in small quantities.

I would try to keep your cat away from our food because it will just spoil her and your cat will probably stay away from cat food.

It should be okay occasionally, but should make up no more than 10% of her diet. She'll get fat and have all kinds of obesiety problems.
