Where are you going to live?

I've spent time in Windsor, Toronto, Niagara Falls and a smaller town east of Toronto - Belleville. I love Canada. Most of the people are super friendly. When I worked in Windsor, they teased me about my American "accent". If you like hockey, Canada is a great place to be. My coworkers got me to try playing hockey with them and I joined a women's hockey league when I got back to the states.

If you're going to live there, do what you can to experience it. Take any chance you get to tour the country and see the sites.

Canada is a very large country -- larger than the United States, and the second largest in the world. So you have to be a little more specific. Parts of Canada are mountainous, others are miles and miles of sweeping prairie. We have three seacoasts, the Atlantic, the Pacific and the North sea, and each is very different.
If you know which part of Canada you are going to be moving to, please share that information and we can tell you all you want to know about it.
The bottom line is, Canada is a wonderful country and has a superlative way of life. We welcome you.

Beautiful country and friendly people. I'm an immigrant here (came in the 80's) and the people are GREAT. Almost too friendly (I'm German-Canadian). Very open-minded. Call us Canuck anytime, it's not an insult.
Greatest places:
Quebec City
Vancouver
Ottawa
NOT Toronto

jzwigger is an idiot and couldn't find Canada on the map. Just a jealous little man.

I love Canada! I have lived within 20 miles of the canadian border for over 30 years and it is a great place to go.
A lot of the areas are very rural and peaceful. The city centers are similar to the U.S. - They used to be cleaner, but Windsor and Toronto are dirtier than they used to be. I can't speak for the other major cities, though Vancouver has it's areas like that too. Quebec is beautiful, but if you don't speak French (well) they can get a little snotty, but it isn't as bad as the rumors you might have heard.
Much like the U.S. the areas are very different... East of Quebec is very similar to the northern New England area; Quebec is a whole 'nother world; Ontario to B.C. are very much like the American states south of them, but with less people and colder. If it weren't for the healthcare system, I wouldn't mind moving to Canada myself...

Canada is a great vast country. Second largest land mass in the entire world. Weather varies from seaon to season. No we do not live in igloos and drive dog sleds. Very contempary country also with many cultural activities. Our one and two dollar coins arre called loonies and twoonies. Ottawa is the capitol of our country. We are the USA's neighbour and largest trading partner.

I hope that when you come to live here that you will come to appreciate Canada for all it's natural beauty as much as I do.

We're doing great thank you!! I've lived in almost every province of Canada none of the territoried tho, and its fantastic everywhere. If you want cold weather but some of the best people, come to Saskatoon. If you like mountains, the rockies, if you like culture pretty much anywhere in Canada

I live in Canada and am a Canadian. Very very nice! I'll welcome you at the border. Friendly people, peace, free health care, good housing (especially in the Maritimes), a little higher taxes but it's not much higher then the States. You have to pay a little more for free health care, good housing, the best education in the world and friendly people. I love Canada.

Yes, it largely depends on where you are going to live. Canada, like the US, is very different from location to location. Canada has some very beautiful sites and it is as different and vast as the United States.

i think canada is a great place to live..
i couldn't imagine living anywhere else..
the only thing that is a pain in the *** is the weather.. you just have to get use to change.. it gets unbelievably hot in the summer (at least in the southern part) and can get extremely cold in the winter time.. but i imagine thats the same in a lot of other places too.. it just seems to me we canadians are always complaining about the weather.. :)
i think for the most part canadians tend to be more friendly and helpful..

It has a higher standard of living then America, unless you live in LA, the Bay or NYC. Great place, cheaper items from Japan too. I suggest Vancouver, or (hongcouver). I would also say it is more international and/or European than like the USA.

Don't call anyone a canook. They really don't like that. They also like to brawl a little and tend to be fiesty. But their national sport is hockey so that is expected.
