Hearns - W 61 (KO's 48) TF 67 - wins over P. Cuevas, Benitez, Duran and V. Hill - KO'ed by Leonard, Hagler and I. Barkley (an average fighter) - 18th greatest puncher of all-time - 67 greatest fighter of all-time - nickname "Hit Man".
Won titles at Wlt (147), S Wlt (154), Mid (160), S Mid (168) and Lt Hwy (175).
Would have been in top 10 or 20 (pound 4 pound) if weren't for his lack of stamina/glass jaw.
Much better boxer than given credit for.

McCallum - W 49 (KO's 36) TF 55 - wins over J. Jackson, M. McCrory, D. Curry and J. Toney - Never KO'ed - 87th greatest puncher of all-time - 79th greatest fighter of all-time - nickname "body snatcher".
Won titles at S Mid (154), Mid (160) and Lt Hwy (175)

Several factors could McCallum take Hearns' punches, would McCallum's body punches weaken Hearns.
I see Hearns barely holding on for a majority decision.

Hearns

I would have to lean toward Mike "The Body Snatcher". He possessed great ability in conjunction with a great chin. He fought a guy who had a punch comparable to The Hit Man's, Julian "The Hawk" Jackson and won. The Jackson/McCallum fight would be a preview of what the Hearns/McCallum fight would look like.

Interesting fight. McCallum was an underrated champ and a terrific body puncher. But Hearns was an all-time great. I say Hearns by TKO in 11.

If he had a glass chin, it sure looked like bullet-proof glass.
Only 3 fighters could hold a candle to the Hitman, Duran, Hagler and Leonard.

And it took their best effort to beat him and still, he managed to defeat or draw with them in rematches.

That was the 'Golden era' of the middleweights, nothing has come close since.

And I'd take Hearns to stop McCallum in 5 rounds.

McCallum at junior middleweight would wear him down with body shots. Hearns was a legend but at heavier weights.

I believe that Hearns would keep McCallum off of him with a stinging jab and right hands throughout the fight and win a fairly close decision.
