Not sure what the typical weight is, but my 5 year old weighs close to 50 lbs.

Well I have a 4 year old brother and he weighs about 38 pounds, so i'm guessing a 5 year old would be about 48?..or around that weight range.

It's actually a better idea to call your county nurse and see if she has a growth chart you can have. It shows the ranges of weight according to age and height, which vary greatly from child to child. Or your doctor's office might have such a chart too. Some toddler books have these charts in them too, so check at your local library. Getting information from other people regarding your child often isn't a good idea, because not all kids mature at the same rate. <*)))><

Children are individuals, so there is no "typical weight"...however if you feel the child is under or overweight, ceck with his pediatrician. You don't want to over react and start a life-long eating disorder problem

My son is 5, is 4 ft 2 inches tall, and weighs 54 lbs. He's super tall for his age.
Call your local public health unit to talk with someone if you're concerned about his/her growth or health.

My six year old was just under 50 pounds. She is now just over 50 pounds. She is also about 4 feet tall.

I have a five year old and she only weighs 40lbs, shes underwight though cause thats how much my 3 year old weighs....its nice though, they can wear the same clothes

Um....40 lbs for a 3 year old is NOT normal.
My 5-yr-old is around 40 lbs. She is at a normal weight for her age.

well my daughter is kinda tall for her age but average weight is about 50 lbs. my daughter weighs almost 60 lbs
