A FAST actually means total abstinence; hence the word BREAKFAST where you BREAK the overnight FAST.
What you seem to be speaking about is a DIET which is a totally different thing altogether.

Fasting is VERY bad for you. Once your body goes into starvation mode (which will happen in 24-48 hours on the fast you laid out here) your body greedily hangs on to every last bit of fat you have. You end up burning muscle instead. That's not what you want to do, is it?

Look, everything you have listed in your fast will help you lose weight, so go ahead and eat/drink that stuff, but don't exclude everything else. Add your exercise and eat these weight-loss friendly foods as well:

-- Any kind of nuts (almonds are best, but...)
-- Beans/legumes
-- Lowfat dairy products
-- Eggs (high in protein and "good" fat)
-- Olive oil (also high in "good" fat)
-- Lean meats, especially fish and poultry
-- Whole grain breads/cereals/pasta
-- Fresh fruits (berries of any kind top the list)

Want a natural appetite suppressant that's good for you? Take a tablespoonful of olive oil 3 times a day, preferably before meals. It'll help you eat less and will provide fats that your body needs to help your weight loss efforts. Also, get those fiber numbers up. Fiber fills you up and actually "traps" a lot of saturated fat and gets it out of your system.

Good luck!

You TRULY need to consult your doctor (not dietician, DOCTOR) before you do this. This is a severe diet. Chances are these foods were not in your everyday diet to begin with.

I am 24, female, 170, and 5'6". I got fat (yes, FAT) by eating carbs late at night because that's what was cheap and easy to make when I got off work late. My diet for months was carbs late at night. To change it up so DRASTICLY would increase my chances of not being able to stick with a diet.

So change gradually. Cut out 80% of the junk/unhealthy food you usually eat, and increase that with fresh fruit, veggies, and protiens to fill you up.

Don't count on fasting to *keep the weight off.* It WON'T work. You will lose weight, but also muscle and bone density. You need to excersize too to keep the muscle growing and your heart healthy.

DO NOT follow "Hollywood" diets. They are for people who Yo-yo their whole lives because they are playing parts in movies. You are going to be you your whole life-- Be healthy!

For a more extreme but better-rounded diet, research macro/microbiotic diets.

I think its a great idea if you want to starve! Girl eat less SUGAR and less FATS and you'll do fine. I recommend small, frequent meals to lose weight. Like 4 or 5 small servings of healthy foods, fruit, veggies, those nuts you seem to love, grains (bread), dairy, and meat (not a Big Mac). And always remember to exercise! Don't overdo it though. You could hurt yourself! Then, after a week or so, you should lose a few lbs.

it is not good to deprive your body of the nutrients you have already put in it. Protein is a good way to eat less and get full faster. You may lose the weight but then when you go back to eating the way you did, your body is going to go into hyprdrive b/c you deprived it for so long. I say just exercise. I had a baby a year ago and Im still trying to lose.

I think it's totally ridiculous. You're not going to consume any protein, so all that will happen is that you'll lose lean muscle and keep all your fat. And exercising on such low caloric intake is dangerous. If you're ready to lose weight, then see a dietician or join weight watchers to learn what healthy eating is really like. That way, you'll lose weight, be healthy, and you'll be able to stick to the diet plan you're given.

Don't risk your health.

I usually don’t recommend fasting, because it slows down your metabolism, and can create a nutritional “misbalance” in your body. If you are planning to exercise, you will need your calories, protein and some carbohydrates. I recommend you to take a look at the diets rich in lean protein (red meat, fish, chicken, etc), vegetables and fruits.

you need to get more protein than just those almonds. Add chicken or fish. If not, do protein shakes. You need to because it builds muscle and muscle burns fat.
